DS Server 5 introduces new built-in Dependency Injection services for plugins. Developers can now injectIDocumentProcessingServicefor direct access to document conversion, mail merge, document manipulation, PDF form field extraction, and barcode generation, as well asIDocumentEditorSessionServicefor interacting with active Document Editor sessions in real time. - More Powerful Plugin Development
Starting with version 5, plugins can integrate much deeper into DS Server. Custom controllers, middleware, and services can now work directly with DS Server capabilities through standard ASP.NET Core Dependency Injection, making it much easier to build custom endpoints and workflow extensions. - Built with .NET 10
DS Server 5 is now compiled with .NET 10, bringing the latest performance improvements, runtime enhancements, and long-term platform support. - Document Editor Improvements
The Document Editor includes several usability improvements such as descriptive text for frames, tables, hyperlinks, and document links, localized measurement units in the ribbon, insert key state in the status bar, and support for setting the initial text of certain merge fields through the JavaScript API. - Document Viewer Signing Enhancements
When using a custom signing endpoint through a plugin, the Document Viewer can now forward the current OAuth access token automatically. This makes it possible to protect signing endpoints using DS Server's built in access token validation. - Bug Fixes and Stability Updates
DS Server 5 includes a broad set of fixes across the Document Editor and Document Viewer, including improvements for drag and drop in RTF documents, spell checking dialogs, exported signatures, annotation handling, signature rendering, and signing reliability.
